A simple grey wool skirt and vest gets over the top embellishment with a bands done in a variety of beads, huge sequins, silver foil and metal threading. The effect is wonderful and in person they have an even more raised effect then how it photoed! White and silver are used to perfectly set off the more sombre grey tone underneath. The vest is cut boxed and square and the band of embellishment runs down the front and around the hem. The skirt is a perfect slim A-line and the embellishment here circles the hem and is a full 5" high! Really fabulous and well made. This was a division of the Malcolm Starr company and their attempt to enter a higher end market. From what I can gather it only lasted a season or two but while it lasted it emphasized heavily on well made and beaded pieces like this. Excellent condition
Both pieces are lined in a grey silky rayon. The vest closes at the low front with hook and eye. The skirt closes with a back zipper. The embellishments are all hand sewn onto both pieces. There is a very faint spot near the waistband seam at the front. I only saw it in strong light lying flat and it will not photo. Hidden pockets in the skirt
